QLD: Man in stable condition after cliff fall
An elderly tourist has miraculously escaped serious injury after falling 60 metres
from a cliff on the Sunshine Coast.
A Counter Disaster Rescue Service spokeswoman says the Melbourne man, aged between
65 and 70, stumbled over a tree root on a cliff's edge at Moffat Beach.
She says he fell about 60 metres down the cliff before being stopped by a rock ledge.
Queensland Rescue Helicopter winched him out, and he is in a stable condition at the
Nambour hospital with suspected spinal injuries and a broken leg.
